TIMELINE

How long does it take? What to expect

We file within two weeks

Once you provide the information and documents we need, we usually submit your application within two weeks. If we expect a delay, we will tell you promptly.

Home Office decision

Straightforward cases often take 3–6 months. Processing times vary and we cannot guarantee when a decision will arrive.

Check Current UKVI processing times.

What the fixed fee does not cover

The fixed fee does not cover advice or assistance if the Home Office refuses your application and you need to appeal. Appeal work is quoted separately. Third-party charges — Home Office fees, court fees, barrister fees and similar disbursements — are also extra.

Disbursements

The quoted fee is for Aden & Co Solicitors’ work only. Disbursements are costs payable to third parties — court fees, counsel, Home Office fees, the health surcharge, experts, interpreters or translations. We can arrange these for you.

  • Counsel’s fees

Typically £1,000 – £2,500 per day (including preparation) for Tribunal or court hearings, depending on the advocate’s experience.

  • Interpreter fees

Costs vary — some clients need a few hours, others 10–15 hours. You may bring a friend or community figure, or we can help you find an interpreter.

Most disbursements, excluding court and Home Office fees, attract VAT at 20%. Home Office visa fees are set by UKVI. Home Office visa fee tables.
